Counseling
School counselors play a vital role in supporting the well-being and success of all students. They provide academic guidance, career planning, and social-emotional support through one-on-one meetings, group sessions, and classroom lessons.
Counselors help students develop coping skills, build positive relationships, and set goals for the future. They also collaborate with families and staff to create a safe, inclusive, and supportive school environment. Counseling services are available to all students throughout the school year.
Message from School Counselor
Hello, we are your School Counselors! We look forward to getting to know your student through recess visits, whole grade lessons, classroom lessons and student small groups/individual supports as needed. We start the year with our Kinders teaching Kelso's Choices Lessons. Then, throughout the year we will teach Child Protection Lessons in Kindergarten through 2nd grade and Bullying Prevention Lessons in 3rd through 5th grade. We will use data and teacher input on groups to run and ways to best support individual students. If there is anything we can do to specifically support your child, please reach out!

Social-Emotional Learning
Social Emotional Learning helps students build self-awareness, social skills, and responsible decision-making. It builds empathy, resilience, and emotional intelligence, empowering students to manage emotions, set goals, and create positive connections within their school community.
